About Kim

LOVE Me and Dixie, my furry sister.

I am so grateful to be able to do what truly nurtures my Soul . . .express myself as an artist and capture the essence of a beloved pet in paint. I LOVE animals. Unfortunately, I am very allergic and  can’t have them anymore, so painting fur babies is a way to deeply connect with them.
If you talk to my mom, she will tell you that I was born with a gift for art…that I came into this world with a crayon in my hand. (She’s my biggest fan.)
In my early school years, I always thrived in art and drama, this lead me to decided to become a drama and art teacher. It was during university that I discovered my love for drawing animals started with coloured charcoal pencils. After a few short years of teaching, I realized I didn’t really want to teach art and drama/theatre, I wanted to DO art and theatre.
Since then I have been a fused glass artist and created a business with my partner called Window Candy (which we ended in 2013), a clown, a costume character for Klondike Days in Edmonton, a face painter, a balloon artist, a faux- finisher, muralist, a stand-up comic (a very short stint!), and an actress. Recently, I became a Creative Arts Facilitator and a member of a local improv group. Never satisfied with one creative expression – pet portraits are something I also love to do in my spare time!
One of my greatest joys is delivering a completed painting to the client and seeing them so happy (many cry with joy). And everyone says – “You captured him/her, that’s them!”
