My love of pets and painting came together when a sweet little Yorkie named Bentley came into my life.  Sadly, he travelled across the Rainbow Bridge in 2016 and I miss him dearly. Bentley was the subject of many of my paintings and photography and he usually posed willingly as he was paid for his modelling services in dog cookies. He was comical, quirky and  entertaining and thus the inspiration for the name of my pet portrait business, “Clown Dog”. 
Over the years my paintings have covered many different subjects but nothing brings me more joy and satisfaction than when I am painting someone’s beloved pet.  They say that ‘the eyes are the window to the soul’ and I believe this is true – that’s why I start a painting with the eyes.  This is where I feel a connection to their spirit which helps me capture their essence in their portrait.
